Tilottama is the name of our favourite city Kolkata. This film however is not about Kolkata but it revolves around the lives of few inhabitants of Kolkata. All these lives are associated with an Ashram named Tilottama, which is run by a seventy year old man. Human relations and exploration of human emotions are the main focus of this film.

About the film review :
Since the word Tilottoma is used, many of you may think that this is a film regarding our favourite city Kolkata. In Reality, the film is not about Kolkata but this is about the lives and emotions of some people living in Kolkata. What we can understand from the trailer is that, there is a kind of ashram (religious retreat), which is run by a man who is nearly 70 years old. And according to him, this is his place of pilgrimage. This is a place of worship for him. The name of this very ashram is Tilottoma. The story of the film revolves around this ashram. There are a few kids who live in the ashram. The ashram provides them shelter as well as food. The person who runs this place is the one who has taken up the responsibility of all these children. He has his own philosophies about life and he spends life based on those philosophy. Not only that, his Philosophy may also influence other peoples' lives. Among them there are a few young people and amidst them, you will get to see Trina and Neel. All of you those who watch serials, to them this couple is quite well known. However in the film the director has not captured them in one frame. They spend their lives separately. Here we will get to see Neil as a musician and Trina as a single mother. We will get to see the ways of their lives as well as the pain the sufferings of the lives. Apart from them we will also get to see Ritobroto and Rai who spend their lives together but are not married. They are in a live-in relationship. There are several pains and emotions in the lives of these people and all of them are dependent on each other. Different situations show, how one is helping another in the times of pain and suffering. As a result, according to the trailer there are two layers to the film. On one side there is a life of the 70 year old man and on the other there are the lives of these young people. How these young people are getting influenced by the old man or why the name of the film is Tilottoma, to know all these answers, you must watch the film.
The Acting Part : The acting side of the film is very good. Specially Poran Bandopadhyay. He is extremely good in the portrayal of his character and he has taken it to another level. If the film gets appreciated by the audience, then much of its credit will go to Paran Bandopadhyay.Besides, Neel, Trina and everyone has acted quite nicely.
As a result, overall, the trailer looks quite promising. It is quite attractive. And the way this trailer is made, it is not in a typical mainstream format, but the film has tried to explore the typical bengali emotions and bengali lives. This makes the film quite promising and we are all waiting eagerly for this film.
The scripting and Technical part: The story of the film is not technical, it is based on the typical emotions of Bengali people. Their ways of life, the diversity of their lives; all these things are highlighted in the movie. The technical part is not that much highlighted.
However no visual art is possible without the technical aspect. Thus it is essential to say something about the technical side of the film. It is not that something very novel is shown in the technical part. However, the technical part is quite efficiently used to reflect the emotions and those types of technical parts are used here which can cater to this need. The colour gradation used in the film quite effectively reflects the emotions. Specifically the background music. The way the songs are used in the film is quite praise worthy.
Verdict:
The trailer looks promising because it is not based on a run-of-the-mill story. There is a good attempt to explore human ties and human emotions. If the narrative is good, the film will surely touch a chord with the audience. The film is going to release on 15th March.
