Tilottoma: Unlike the name, there is no beauty in the movie
About the story: There is an orphanage called Tilottama whose main owner is Paran Bandopadhyay and what kind of relation, what kind of chemistry does he share with the other characters in the movie; like those played by Neel, Trina, Rwitobroto. Human relations and exploration of human emotions are the main focus of this film.
About the cast: The film casts Paran Bandopadhyay, Neel Bhattacharya, Trina Saha Bhattacharya, Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Rai Das in the pivotal characters.
About the director and producer: The film is directed by Soumojit Adak and executive producers are Debanjan Banerjee and Rahul Bhattacharya.
About the film review: First of all let me tell you that those of you who have ample time in your hand, those of you who have a lot of patience, only then you people can go and watch this movie. Because to speak very frankly I don't see any positive point in the movie.
About the Acting Part: Firstly if I talk about acting in the movie, yes definitely Paran Bandopadhyay's performance is okay. He is a milestone and he has given several awesome performance. But after watching his performance in this movie , I must confess that it is not that good. Now If I talk about the performance of other actors - nobody's acting is good. Let me give you an example. There is one particular scene in the movie where Neel is dreaming. He is dreaming about the fact that he wants to be a musician and he loves his mother's voice the most. This is a pleasant dream. After this, when he wakes up from sleep the kind of reaction that he gives that reaction doesn't at all match the dream which he was dreaming. As a result, relation among the characters, their chemistry nothing has built up here. Most importantly, I will blame the director much more than the actors. Here the director's vision is not at all clear. A director who cannot extract right performance from a veteran actor like Paran Bandopadhyay, it is absolutely unfortune.
About the scripting and the Technical part: The story line is absolutely bad. Many times it is the story line that propells a film forward. But here the story line is absolutely bad and since the story line is bad the script is not at all good. As a result from all angles, the making is absolutely poor. There is no varriation in the location. Above everything, what is most important is the technical part. Often times, good technical part uplifts a movie. Here the usage of the technical part is absolutely bad particularly in case of editing. Why is it dissolving, where it is dissolving nothing is clear. Every scene is coming separately like a collage and it is disappearing again like a collage. There is no reason behind all these. The way the songs are appearing in the movie, the way the background music has been used, doesn't make any sense.
Verdict: This is one movie which I have not liked from any angle. As far my opinion goes, a movie like this shouldn't be made because it is absolute waste of money. However, since this is a Bengali movie, all of you who wants to go can surely go and watch the movie and let us know your opinion in our comment box below.
