414

About the story: The trailer of Tekka starts with a thrilling incident, that takes place in the heart of the city. To get back his job, one man turns into a kidnapper from a sweeper. He has ruffled hair and a pistol in his hand. After kidnapping a little girl, he is putting the trigger against her forehead. That employee wants back his job, by hook or by crook. And Dev is playing the role of this particular employee. To know the rest of the story, you have to watch the film.

About the Cast and the Crew: The film has a stellar cast comprising of Dev, Rukmini Maitra, Swastika Mukherjee, Paran Bandopadhyay, Tota Roy Chowdhury and others.

About the Director and Producer: The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures.

About the Trailer Review: From the beginning of the trailer of Tekka, Dev has presented himself in an absolutely different avatar. The main protagonist of the film, is of course, played by him.

Friends, in the trailer, it is seen that Eklavya, that is Dev, who got his job as a sweeper just one month back, has lost it. But the financial condition of his family is such that he is unable to accept this loss of job Thus, he kidnaps a school girl. And the act of kidnapping, which transforms him from a good human being to a kidnapper, all these nuances of his character are beautifully portrayed by Dev. In Every movie his performance is great. But still, in the trailer of Tekka, his performance is so natural, that it is bound to give you Goosebumps. Every dialogue, every move, seems so natural, that it feels like actually the incidents are happening with him. There is one incident when Dev picks up the revolver and fires it. But a person, who has never used a fire weapon, who is basically a good human being, for him to use a gun like that, is something unnatural and fearsome. All these things are portrayed very convincingly and hence Dev deserves a round of applause for his performance.

Another important thing which I must mention about this trailer is that, Srijit Mukherjee as a director, has depicted every detail in the trailer so clearly that it leaves no ambiguity. Not only Dev, but all the other actors who are there in the movie, have given great performance and their characters seem deeply connected. Everyone is extremely convincing; so much so that it seems like all these incidents are happening in their real lives. And all these incidence are very relatable.

In the trailer of Tekka Rukmini Maitrs is seen playing the character of a crime branch officer. And I must say she suits the character really well. Her appearance, short hair, style of talking everything is going well with her character. There is Swastika also in the film. We all know that Swastika Mukherjee is an incredible actress. Be it a film or a series, there is nothing negative to speak about Swastika's performance. Swastika's performance, even though in glimpses of the trailer, has impressed the audience.

In one scene of the trailer we see that Swastika's daughter has gone missing. And when this happens she is totally at a loss about what to do. Her frantic searches, challenges and finally the inability to find her daughter leads to her trying to harm someone else. This Motive is depicted so convincingly by Swastika, that it is simply mind blowing. When she is unable to find her daughter and at that moment her pain, her longing to meet her daughter, the separation, her tension- every emotion is portrayed very convincingly by Swastika. This apart, in the trailer we see Paran Bandopadhyay as a political leader. Characters of reporters are played by Neil Mukherjee, Aryan Bhowmik and others. Performance of every actor is praise worthy. Everyone is so natural that their characters seem connected somehow. It seems that not a trailer is running but real life incidence are happening in front of the eyes.

There is one scene in the trailer which shows that a problem was brewing between the employees regarding employment and this scene is so convincingly portrayed that it is bound to bring tears to the eyes of the audience. All the dialogues of the film are very natural and contemporary.

As weall know in a Srijit Mukherjee film, there has to be the use of some slangs. Though glimpses of that are shown in the trailer but it is so nicely presented that it doesn't stand out.

Now let me talk about the colour gradation of the movie. In all the scenes, all the incidents the colour gradation looks very realistic.Tekka teaser is designed beautifully and along with that the background score is equally good.

However what I feel personally is that the trailer is a little bit lengthy. Had it been shorter and some surprise elements were not revealed, it would have been better. But all in all it is very promising.

Verdict: Dev has ahuge fan following and they would flock to the theatre to watch him. Moreover it is a Srijit Mukherjee film. So, there is no doubt that Tekka is going to do well at the box office.
