Why Mentaaal Become Sentimentaaal? Sentimentaaal Film Reaction

About the Film Reaction
The initial name of the film was “Mentaaal” but now it has been changed to “Sentimentaaal.” The story is flat and simple. You have seen this kind of stories a lot. A problem arises in a place and a police officer comes to rescue. The police clashes with the main antagonist and lastly win the battle. It is completely a mainstream gharana film. In lead we will see Yash, Nussrat and Sayantani Ghosh
Coming to the positive point, the second half of the film, the tussle between hero and villain is well presented. It’s not fabulous but good enough to engage audience. Comeback of Yash is also a positive point beside Dev, Jeet and Prosenjit. The choreography of action scenes is also good since it is a mainstream film. Action is a crucial element like in Rohit Shetty’s film. In this film the director has designed the action scenes. Next the entry of Yash. in our country entry of hero plays a crucial role in commercial movies which the western countries do not focus much rather they believe in natural way of entry but here the entry of hero is seen as if a storm has raged. Now coming to the negative points, we have seen mainstream gharana so many but why this again?
How much mainstream be the content but if the director can focus on the effects, then it becomes meaningless. Secondly, the definition of hero in our Bengali industry be like a dumb stout figure, no experiments is done on the looks of hero and villain but if you see a movie of South Indian you will find a deep experiment is done on the looks of hero and villain. Which is the driving force of the success of the film. This is lacking in this film. Not only this film but all films in our Bengali industry. The way the technical treatment be it color grading or cinematography been done is like the period of Haranath Chakraborty. Song gives a lot of views. It is natural this kind of commercial movies consist many songs and item number but there is no attraction in this item number
The background score as well as the editing is same and cliché. These things do not take the film forward rather drops the tale. One of the major negative segments is the first half of the movie. The chemistry between Nussrat and Yash won’t work among audience. There is no such contribution of the actress in second half but what about the first half? It is totally based on the chemistry between the hero and heroine. Many comic elements have been introduced in the film. You can get a glimpse of Rowdy Rathore but you won’t find the magic moments of Rowdy Rathore in Yash’s character. The comedy did not work in any scenes. The first half is so vague that audience will be bound to leave their seats and end watching the film. Then comes the acting of our hero in this film. I personally felt he did not work on his craft at all. If you have seen Pushpa or KGF you will find a own style of the actor himself. We do not find such stylization in Yash’s character but from his previous himself he has developed himself but there is no new element in his stylization. Lastly, I will say those who want to whistle and get entertained with item number. For those audience, you definitely go and get entertained.
