Oti Uttam - There is Uttam Kumar in the movie and what more could one ask for?
About the story: The story line of the film is quite intriguing. Here there is a guy who is doing his PhD on sociological impact of Uttam Kumar's smile.While in the process of doing the Phd he suddenly feels that this PhD thing is already enough; how will it be if Uttam Kumar can be called back with the help of planchette? With this idea in his heart, he calls upon the spirit of his idol, the late Superstar Uttam Kumar, via a sèance. He also seeks help in wooing Sohini, the girl he is hopelessly in love with. Surprisingly, Uttam Kumar agrees to play cupid, but on his own terms! What happens next? To know that you have to watch the film.

Apart from him there are other actors like Gaurav Chatterjee, Anindya Sengupta, Roshni Bhattacharya, shubhashish Mukherjee, Laboni Sarkar and others.

About the trailer review: The trailer of the film has already created a positive impression on the viewers. Obviously the technology of roto (Rotoscoping) has been used here and how it is done, how technically Uttam Kumar has been brought to life is intriguing. Obviously his image stands out. But in spite of that we are getting Uttam Kumar back on screen , in today's time! Is it anything less? In various places we can see that he is interacting with the various characters of the movie and how he is doing that ? There are many films in which he has some very well known dialogues and those dialogues are matched here according to the circumstances created in this movie. That is something we will enjoy watching. There is a feel good factor in the movie. As mentioned earlier, there is this one guy called krishnendu,who is doing PhD on the sociological impact of Uttam Kumar's smile . While in the process of doing the Phd he gets bored and wants to meet his idol in person. How will it be if Uttam Kumar can be called back with the help of planchette ? So he is doing planchette and Uttam Kumar, in black and white, is coming back and interacting with him. He is also making Uttam Kumar meet his girlfriend. Can you understand the kind of impact that this film will generate?
About the acting part: I think the biggest take away of the film is the fact, that in today's time we get to see Uttam Kumar act on screen !! What more could we ask for? He is the best! All the other actors like Gaurav Chatterjee, Anindya Sengupta, Labani Sarkar - all of them are apt in their own roles.
Scripting and Technical part: Apart from the use of Rotoscoping or roto in the film, if you talk about the other technical parts like colour grading, editing and all the other technical aspects are handled quite nicely. But what I like most about the film's trailer is the background music. There is this feeling of suspense and at the same time there is a lot of fun and both these emotions are highlighted through the use of the background score, which delights us. This is the first Bengali film were this technology is used. Hats off to director Srijit Mukherjee. There is a lot of anticipation regarding the film! Particularly to get Uttam Kumar back on screen, is something we are frantically waiting for.
Verdict: I know, like me, all of you are waiting for the film. I won't divulge any detail regarding the movie. All I would like to say is that Uttam Kumar is there in the film and that is more than one can ask for. It is a must watch for all bengali viewers and I am sure all of you will simply love it.
