Synopsis

Renowned actor and Padma Bhushan recipient, Victor Banerjee, takes on the captivating lead role in this incredible film. Joining him a talented ensemble cast including the talented Anasua Majumdar, the charming Abir Chatterjee, the sensational Mimi Chakraborty, and the versatile Kanchan Mallick, among others. With Ambarish Bhattacharya, Satyam Bhattacharya, Debasish Mondal, Devlina Kumar rounding out the cast, this movie promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience.

A stark, gritty, haunting trailer that reminds you of the Burdwan blast of 2014, when the President Pranab Mukherjee spent his Puja near the terror den. This is clearly the take-off point of Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Puja release, Raktabeej and the trailer that launched today, sets the ball rolling for a roller-coaster ride of thrills, chills and everything in between.
The trailer begins with Birendra Krishna Bhadra’s baritone, which has now become synonymous with the auspicious Mahalaya and gives way to a powerful line, ‘Je Agune Yagna Hoy, Shei Agunei Hoy Bishforon’, summing up what’s in store for us. The trailer also introduces the key players --- top cops Pankaj Sinha (Abir Chatterjee) and Sanjukta Mitra (Mimi Chakraborty) --- apart from the brother-sister duo Victor Banerjee and Anasua Majumdar. Kanchan Mallik and Ambarish Bhattacharya, who also make an impact, provide comic relief in their respective avatars. There are also the other young and dynamic actors like Satyam Bhattacharya and Debashis Mondal in roles we don’t know yet. That Victor Banerjee will be seen as the country’s first citizen is almost a given. He also delivers a potent line, ‘Juddho Jekhane Nyay Anyayer, Sekhane Khoma Ar Param Dhormo Thakena.’ Known for his dialogue delivery in yesteryear films, Victor Banerjee will be seen in his familiar territory after long.
With visuals that capture Durga Puja with its many rituals and a rich background score that elevates the thrill factor and some groovy songs thrown in between, the trailer climaxes at a procession, where something major takes place. What is that, we don’t know. For this, we have to wait for Raktabeej to unfold on the big screen.
