Mukhosh Film Review

Kingshuk, a consulting criminologist at the Kolkata Police, finds himself embroiled in a chilling case involving a series of murders, each with a single common thread. As he delves deeper into the investigation, Kingshuk is confronted with a string of grotesque killings and unexpected twists that push him to unravel the enigmatic trail.

Being an official retelling of "Anjaam Pathiraa," the potential for this film was immense. Although I hadn't personally watched the original, I had only heard positive reviews about it. Therefore, when news of the Bengali remake surfaced, I was filled with anticipation. However, to my dismay, my excitement quickly turned into regret.

To put it bluntly, the remake was lacking in efficiency. From the screenplay to the development of its characters, everything felt unskilled and somewhat rudimentary. As a result, the film proved to be a highly disappointing experience from the perspective of a viewer.

Talking of setbacks, why stick to the same PG-13 stuff? It's high time the creators embrace the full-blown glory of Blood and Gore. And looking at this story, in particular; it demanded those anyways. That being said, the technical sides aren't half bad. In contrast, I completely admire the Cinematography and the scalability of the Score.
Speaking of Performances; it's decent. No means exceptional, but collectively they do a pretty good job. It's again the Writing that makes the situation much more difficult. A script that needed nothing but competent characterization, was deprived of the same. Therefore, not producing the much-desired output!
