Dharmajuddha Trailer Review

200

Does the name Dharmajuddha ring a bell ?Actually two years after its release in the movie halls, now Dharmajuddha is available on HoiChoi. Religion, war, peace everything is related to mind. However, when the name itself is Dharmajuddha, it is quite evident that it highlights the different religions and their practices and beliefs.

About the cast and crew:

Subhashree Ganguly, Soham Chakraborty, Parno Mittra, Ritwick Chakraborty and Swatilekha Sengupta.

About the Director and the Producer:

Dharmajuddha is directed by none other than Raj Chakraborty and produced by Raj Chakraborty Entertainment and Srijan Arts.

About the trailer review:

An old lady and four different people who belong to different religions are there in the story. A scary yet known story relating to them is shown in the trailer of Dharmajuddha. Hindu Muslim riot in a span of a night is what is shown in the trailer of the movie. The main message that is given is, humanity is the biggest religion. Here the main protagonist of the story is an old lady. That character is portrayed by late Swatilekha Sengupta. That apart there are Subhashree Ganguly, Parno Mitra, Hrithik Chakraborty, Soham Chakraborty and others. Swatilekha Sengupta's portrayal of the character of the old lady is praise worthy. Her way of talking, the ego of her character, everything stand out. There is one particular scene where Soham is introducing her as his mother to some of the riot-affected people and she is saying a mother has no religion; she is just a mother. In the trailer of Dharmajuddha, everyone's acting is very natural. Subhashree Ganguly is very good. Nine months pregnant Munni's walk has impressed everyone. Parallely, Parno Mitra's bold acting is surely going to impress you. Shabnam, the character portrayed by Parno has myriad shades and she has successfully brought out all the shades of her character. Soham Chakraborty is equally brilliant. Simpleton yet short tempered - the character of Jabbar Khan suits Soham. The subtle comedy which is there in the story line has added a new dimension. Now let me talk about the dialogue of the film. What is visible from the trailer is that all the dialogues of the movie are very apt. All the dialogues emphasize the need of stopping all sorts of religious riots. Hindu, Muslim everyone is trying hard to establish their own mother tongue. How India used to be prior to Independence, that can be seen in this movie. What I can tell you is that, after 77 years of Indian Independence, you are going to identify with the story. There is no flaw in the colour gradation and editing of Dharmajuddha. At the very beginning, there is a scene. A bus is on fire. Some people are running with burning torches in their hands and in the background there is the sound of lamentation of Hindus and Muslims. There is a terrible riot between Hindus and Muslims. They are slaughtering each other ruthlessly. For a few seconds, this will render you speechless. In the background score of Dharmajuddha, there is hint of religion. There are sounds of conch shell, that of temple bell ringing and at times there is the tune of Azaan. In order to convey the theme of vengeance, a rhythm has been used. Trailer of Dharmajuddha definitely emphasizes on contemporary time.

Verdict:

I think most of you know, yet let me remind you once more, that in 2022 some people in social media urged everyone to boycott Dharmajuddha in the allegation that it is hurting religious sentiments. Raj Chakraborty simply ignored that allegation. The film is very identifiable and I think as a viewer you would like it. Do watch it and let us know your opinion.
