Debchandrima Singha Roy: From Bengali TV to Mumbai’s Big Leagues

357

Debchandrima Singha Roy has successfully made her mark in the Bengali entertainment world, starring alongside Jeet in the film Boomerang. After achieving success on home turf, she ventured to Mumbai and bagged the lead role in the Hindi serial Suhagan Churel. In the show, she portrays Diya, a sweet and simple daughter-in-law from a wealthy family. As Debchandrima continues to fine-tune her Hindi accent, it’s clear she’s steadily establishing herself in the Mumbai entertainment industry.

Recently, an exciting opportunity presented itself—Debchandrima was offered a chance to join Bigg Boss, the hugely popular reality show hosted by Salman Khan. Coincidentally, her Hindi serial Suhagan Churel recently wrapped up production, with the final shoot completed on Friday. Although she’s not committed to any new projects at the moment, Debchandrima has expressed her desire to continue working in Mumbai and approach her next project with care and patience.

The Bigg Boss offer naturally generated some buzz, but what was her decision? Debchandrima revealed that she declined the offer, feeling she still needs more time to prepare for such a prominent platform. For now, her focus is squarely on acting. However, she did mention that she might reconsider if a similar offer comes her way in the future.

Debchandrima was last seen on Bengali television in Saheber Chithi. Over the past year, she has refrained from taking on Bengali projects to focus on auditions in Mumbai. She admitted that language has been her biggest challenge, and thoroughly reading scripts is currently her main priority. But every day is a learning experience, and Debchandrima noted that Bengali artists receive special recognition in Mumbai, something she truly values.
