Movie Review

Fun has no age limit. This is all about the film. Throughout the film the director has focussed on the mother and daughter pair emerging from the shadows of a traumatic relationship and learning to love and live and trust all over again. Though in this case, it is a story of mother and daughter but very true for anyone who has seen domestic violence and been impacted by it. Madhumita’s character Cheeni is very lively where we see her as the best guide and support of Mishti played by Aparajita, though she has a dark past. Somewhere she could have worked on her dialogue delivery. Whenever she goes low pitch, its hard to understand what she is saying. Whenever she goes low pitch, its hard to understand what she is saying.

Aparajita Adhya performance shines as an understanding and supportive friend but sometimes she is too loud. Talking about Subho played by Anirban Chakrabarti, he is quite good playing such a serious and introvert husband. Unlike his famous character Eken Babu he has completely made justice to his character. This film has brought realistic scenarios of family drama But I personally felt the film could have been more compact The story on pen and paper might have looked good but overall execution failed to do justice to the story. It’s too "telefilm style”. The director should have kept this thing in mind.

The screenplay could have been more promising. A proper direction lacked. All the incidents keep coming one after another in a haphazard manner. Suddenly you will feel that you are losing the track of the whole movie. The actor pulled the movie as much as they could. The movie was also dealing with stereotype in many ways. The cire thing Cheeni was dealing with the conflict between her mother and her idea of mother, her idea of rebel and rebe is one of them.

Coming to the technical part, the editing was good like in one of the scenes you will see Mishti making delicious food for Cheeni and feeding her with her own hands cut to we see Subho, Mishti’s husband eating burnt chapattis cooked in his own hand. The cinematography and background music could have been much better. Hence after having so many critical high points, the movie still feel like lacking a few things.
