BRISTI TOMAKE DILAM MOVIE REVIEW
Story: Bristi (Jaya), who is haunted by ghosts from her past, goes on an outing to the hills with her fiancé (Badshah), only to get embroiled in a murder case.
Bristi Tomake Dilam is a strange mix of abundant hamming and a predictable storyline.
Jaya, as Bristi, goes so overboard with her depiction of a young woman in constant psychological turmoil that her performance often slips into the hamming zone. And going by Jaya’s stellar performances in past films, it’s obvious that it was more of a director’s call. That becomes even more evident when you watch a seasoned veteran like Rajesh Sharma step into the over-dramatic zone as a cop, who leads a life of indulgence and mixes with shady characters. It’s really a shock when you see such actors underperform, or should we say, go into an overkill mode. Badshah, on the other hand, deserves a mention for his almost expressionless journey through almost an hour of the film. The only balanced performances come from Rajatava, Subrata and Chiranjeet, the last making a rather short but impressive appearance in the film.
Technically speaking, there’s no wow factor. As a large part of the film is shot in the hills, the scenic beauty does its work. The music as well as the background score, however, deserve an A. The title of the film, however, never makes sense.
In a nutshell, it’s a films that you won’t regret missing.
