Athhoi: The timeless tale of love and betrayal
About the story: There is tremendous anticipation regarding the forthcoming film Athhoi. Athhoi was originally first staged as a play and after that, this time it is now being presented as a film. Here we will get to see the chemistry between lago, Desdimona and Othello just as we have seen in the original play. We can understand the motto of the film which is basically the conflict between two men regarding one woman but that apart, we cannot much guess the storyline. However, the way the trailer has been cut, it is quite intriguing and eye-catching.

About the trailer review: The scenes that are shown in the trailer are quite interesting. In few places there are the usage of jump cuts. Like in one scene where Anirban is pushing Arna and in jump cut it is shown how Arna is pushing Sohini. The way the scenes are put together in a collage, that is making it interesting for the audience to watch the trailer and it is enhancing the interest to watch the film.
The camera angles which are used to capture the scenes are all quite impressive. Moreover Anirban Bhattacharya is a theatre personality. Any film which he is directing or he is acting as the art director, in those films certain theatrical elements are always there. Those of you who have watched his earlier film like Ballavpurer Rupkatha or Mandar already know this. In many places you will find that a theatrical pattern has been followed and that makes it quite interesting.
Now let's talk about the performance of the actors. Anirban as usual is excellent. Arna, Sohini everyone is brilliant in the film. But most important aspect is the background score of the movie. In psychological films where several psychological conflicts are portrayed, in those kind of films instead of too much dialogue the background score does the work to convey the emotion. Here the background score is really good. And all other technical aspects are good. In fact the trailer is such that it encourages the audience to watch the entire film. The rest we have to wait for the film to release.
Verdict: As I always say a trailer is a miniature representation of a film. It consists of snippets of the film and here it is presented in a very eye catching way. I cannot say anything more about the film right now. We are all waiting to see the movie and we all are waiting eagerly to see that.
